About the Project

This website is the result of a mitigation project concerning the impact of a stream restoration project on the Miller Farm, once part of the Big Bone Springs Community.

History/Architecture Survey for Big Bone Lick, Boone County, Kentucky

A report was submitted to the Boone County Historic Preservation Review Board and Boone County Public Library. The report presented the results of a History/Architecture Survey conducted by Gray & Pape, Inc., Cincinnati, Ohio, on behalf of The Northern Kentucky University Center for Environmental Restoration. The survey was undertaken for four resources at least 50 years of age along Beaver Road (KY 338) in Boone County, Kentucky near the entrance of Big Bone Lick State Historic Site. This survey is part of an alternative mitigation option due to the proposed demolition of two wooden barns (BE-299, the Miller Farm) as part of a proposed stream restoration project along the Gum Branch Creek and its tributaries.
